Summary
This study looks at two new approaches to cancer genetic counseling. The first part (EfFORT) tests whether having healthcare providers directly contact family members of people with harmful gene changes leads to more genetic testing, compared to the usual method of patients telling their family themselves. The second part (STRIVE) tests an online portal to help patients with uncertain genetic test results and their doctors stay updated on what those results mean. The study involves 1,000 participants from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
