Blood filtering trial aims to tame diabetes
NCT ID NCT05413005
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing if a procedure called extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) can help people with type 1 diabetes better manage their condition. ECP involves filtering a patient's blood outside the body, treating it with light and a drug, and returning it. The goal is to see if adding ECP to standard diabetes care is safe and if it can help reduce the amount of insulin patients need and improve blood sugar control.
