NCT ID NCT02181257
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests a treatment called extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) for lung transplant patients who develop bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), a condition that causes progressive lung damage. The treatment involves filtering the patient's blood, treating it with light and a drug, then returning it to the body. The goal is to slow the decline in lung function. The study includes 280 Medicare-eligible adults who have already received a lung transplant and have either new or hard-to-treat BOS.
