Lung cancer staging may get more accurate with simple needle flush

NCT ID NCT07461662

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether cleaning the needle used in a lung biopsy more thoroughly can prevent leftover cancer cells from contaminating samples. About 204 adults with suspected lung cancer will take part. The goal is to see if a simple extra rinse helps doctors stage the cancer more accurately, without any extra procedures for patients.
