This study tests a new genetic method (mNGS) to quickly identify bacteria causing pneumonia in 400 children on breathing machines. Ventilator-associated pneumonia is a common and serious complication. By comparing mNGS results with standard lab tests, researchers hope to improve early detection and treatment.
