Breath test could spot lung damage years earlier

NCT ID NCT05092035

Summary

This study tested a new method to detect early lung damage from diseases like COPD or interstitial lung disease (ILD). Researchers analyzed the carbon dioxide in participants' breath in real-time to see if they could spot structural changes in the lungs before they show up on standard breathing tests. The goal is to find a way to diagnose these serious conditions much earlier, when treatment might be more effective.
