Can early HIV meds in babies lead to treatment breaks?
NCT ID NCT02369406
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving HIV medicines to infected babies within the first week of life can reduce the amount of virus hiding in their bodies. The goal is to see if this early treatment helps their immune system fight the virus, possibly allowing them to stop medication for a while later on. The study involves 67 infants in Botswana and tracks their health and virus levels over time.
