New approach aims to stop HIV in babies before it takes hold

Summary
This study aims to quickly identify and treat HIV in newborns at high risk. It tests babies at birth using a rapid, on-site test and immediately starts those who are positive on a modern HIV medication called dolutegravir. Researchers will follow these infants for nearly two years to see how well the treatment controls the virus and keeps them healthy.
