New blood test aims to spot pancreatic cancer before It's too late
NCT ID NCT06388967
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study is testing a new blood test called PANXEON that looks for tiny genetic particles (miRNAs) to detect pancreatic cancer early. Researchers will collect blood samples from 2,000 people—some with pancreatic cancer and some without—to see how accurate the test is. If it works, it could lead to a simple, noninvasive way to catch this deadly cancer sooner.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PANXEON blood test (measures miRNAs in blood samples)
What this could lead to
If successful, this blood test could help doctors detect pancreatic cancer earlier, when it is more treatable, potentially improving survival rates.
What could go wrong
This is a validation study, not a treatment trial. The test may not be accurate enough for widespread use, and results may not apply to all populations.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
