AI reads faces to spot delirium before doctors can

This study aims to create a computer program that can predict delirium in ICU patients by analyzing their facial expressions and other biological features. Delirium is a sudden confusion that often goes undiagnosed. The researchers will enroll about 795 adults in the ICU and use cameras and machine learning to build an early warning system. This is an observational study, not a treatment, so it focuses on improving detection rather than curing or controlling the condition.
