Scientists hunt for DNA clues to predict deadly cancer
NCT ID NCT00431756
Summary
This study aims to find early DNA changes in blood and esophageal tissue that could warn if a person with Barrett's esophagus or reflux is likely to develop esophageal cancer. Researchers are analyzing samples from 600 people who have had an endoscopy to see if specific DNA markers can predict cancer risk better than current methods. The goal is to help identify high-risk patients earlier so doctors can recommend closer monitoring or preventive treatments.
