Could a Radiation-Free scan replace risky imaging for kids with cancer?

NCT ID NCT02415816

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special MRI (DW-MRI) that uses no radiation can work as well as standard scans like CT and PET-CT for children with bone or soft-tissue sarcomas. About 98 children participated to see if the MRI can accurately detect tumors and show how well treatment is working. The goal is to reduce children's exposure to harmful radiation from repeated imaging.
