First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This small pilot study at Mayo Clinic is testing whether dry needling (a technique using thin needles to release muscle knots) combined with therapeutic exercise can improve sleep in people with long-term neck pain and sleep problems. The study includes 28 adults aged 18-75 who have had neck pain for over 3 months and poor sleep. The main goal is to see if the approach is feasible and safe, while also measuring changes in sleep quality and duration.
