First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether eating dried Saskatoon berries every day can improve blood sugar and cholesterol levels in people with untreated prediabetes or new type 2 diabetes. About 92 adults will eat either Saskatoon berries or a control dried fruit for 10 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in glucose, insulin resistance, and gut bacteria to see if this natural food offers a safer way to manage diabetes.
