Silent zapper tested for stubborn nerve pain
NCT ID NCT07170722
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of low-level electrical stimulation, delivered to a bundle of nerves in the spine, provides real pain relief for people with chronic nerve pain. It involved 20 adults who already had an implanted stimulator and were getting good pain relief from it. Each participant tried two settings for 5 days each: the real low-level stimulation and a fake 'sham' setting where the device was off, to see which one worked better.
