Shorter lyme treatment may be just as effective: 7-day doxycycline trial

NCT ID NCT03337932

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 7-day course of doxycycline works as well as the standard 14-day course for people with multiple Lyme disease rashes (multiple erythema migrans). About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment lengths. Researchers will track symptoms and any return of Lyme signs for up to a year to see if the shorter treatment is enough.
