Shorter lyme treatment may be just as effective
NCT ID NCT03337932
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 7-day course of doxycycline works as well as the standard 14-day course for people with multiple Lyme disease rashes (erythema migrans). About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment lengths. Researchers will track symptoms and signs of Lyme disease for up to 12 months to see if the shorter treatment is enough to control the infection.
