New combo therapy shows promise for rare sarcoma

NCT ID NCT04028063

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding two immunotherapy drugs (zalifrelimab and balstilimab) to standard chemotherapy (doxorubicin) can help people with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma live longer without their cancer growing. About 65 adults aged 18-100 who have not had prior anthracycline chemotherapy will receive the combination. The main goal is to see if more patients are progression-free at 6 months compared to historical data with chemotherapy alone.
