First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at how doomscrolling (compulsively reading negative news online) and social media addiction affect people with fibromyalgia, a condition causing widespread pain and fatigue. Researchers surveyed 173 adults aged 18-49 to measure their social media habits, fear of missing out, and fibromyalgia symptoms. The goal was to understand if these digital behaviors make fibromyalgia worse, which could help find new ways to support patients.
