First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether donepezil, a medicine used for Alzheimer's, can also improve bone health and lower fracture risk in older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer's. About 45 participants will take either donepezil or memantine daily for 12 months. Researchers will measure bone density and blood markers of bone turnover to see if donepezil helps protect bones.
