Brain chemistry experiment tests if serotonin drugs boost kindness
NCT ID NCT06081179
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether drugs that boost serotonin (like some psychedelics) can make healthy people more social and caring compared to drugs that boost dopamine. 122 healthy adults aged 18-40 took part in computer tasks measuring empathy, generosity, and moral decisions. The goal was to understand how brain chemistry affects social behavior, not to treat any disease.
