COVID-19 linked to dangerous lung clots, new study confirms
NCT ID NCT04696913
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether COVID-19 infection makes people more likely to develop pulmonary embolism (PE), a serious condition where blood clots block arteries in the lungs. Researchers reviewed medical records of 347 patients who had a special CT scan of their lungs. The goal was to confirm and measure the link between COVID-19 and PE, which could help doctors better treat sudden breathing problems in COVID-19 patients.
