Eye study seeks clues to better diabetes vision treatment

NCT ID NCT06984822

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at 150 people with diabetic macular edema (DME) to see if certain markers in the blood and eye scans can predict how well they respond to two common treatments: anti-VEGF injections or a dexamethasone implant. Participants will be divided into groups based on their treatment, and researchers will measure levels of various inflammatory and growth factors in the blood. The goal is to find patterns that could help doctors choose the best treatment for each person in the future.
