First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at how to best monitor people aged 65 and older who have covert cerebrovascular disease (CCD) — hidden blood vessel damage in the brain that raises the risk of stroke and dementia. Researchers will test simple assessments like daily living skills, memory tests, and speech samples in 100 participants. The goal is to design larger future trials that can find treatments to prevent strokes and dementia.
