Can text messages ease anxiety and depression in young adults?
NCT ID NCT04948268
Summary
This study tested an 8-week text messaging program designed to help young adults (ages 18-25) who experience depression and anxiety but are not interested in traditional therapy. Researchers compared a personalized text message system that adapted to each person's needs against a standard, non-personalized version and a basic educational program. The goal was to see if this digital approach could reduce distress and keep participants engaged, and whether adding brief human check-ins helped those who started to lose interest.
