Heart MRI study seeks to uncover hidden clues of failure

NCT ID NCT02973633

First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study uses a special MRI technique to look at the microscopic structure of the heart muscle in people at risk for heart failure. Researchers want to understand how heart muscle fibers change over time in conditions like heart attack and thickened heart walls. The goal is to learn more about why heart failure develops, not to test a new treatment. About 160 adults, including healthy volunteers and patients with heart conditions, will be scanned multiple times.
