Fiber and green tea may curb alcohol's effects, pilot study finds
NCT ID NCT06576674
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This pilot study looked at whether a dietary supplement (fiber plus green tea) can make people feel fuller from alcohol and change their response to drinking. 64 at-risk drinkers aged 21-45 took part in two lab sessions, once with the supplement and once with a placebo, then had an alcohol drink. Researchers measured feelings of fullness and mood changes, but this was an early-stage study to gather information, not to test a treatment.
