Shocking your way slim: new study tests diet + electrical muscle stimulation for obesity

NCT ID NCT07562724

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding whole-body electrical muscle stimulation to a low-calorie diet helps obese adults lose weight and improve their metabolism. Forty people will be split into two groups: one only on a diet, the other on a diet plus muscle stimulation for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in blood markers and body composition to see if the combo works better than diet alone.
