First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study observed 66 ICU patients on breathing machines to see if ultrasound could detect differences in diaphragm thickness during different machine settings. Researchers compared measurements when the machine fully controlled breathing versus when patients breathed on their own. The goal was to gather information that might help doctors adjust ventilator care in the future.
