First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a new tool called the DiamondTemp Ablation System to treat people with persistent atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat). The goal was to see if it could safely restore a normal heart rhythm for at least a year. The study involved 376 adults with persistent AFib that did not get better with medication. The approach uses heat to destroy tiny areas of heart tissue causing the abnormal signals.
