NCT ID NCT07151885

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special ultrasound technique, combined with liver stiffness and platelet count, can accurately detect high-risk varices (enlarged veins) in the stomach and esophagus of people with liver cirrhosis. About 380 adults with cirrhosis will be tested. The goal is to find a non-invasive way to identify who needs urgent treatment, avoiding the need for a camera down the throat.
