Blood tests could reveal hidden clues in diabetic eye disease
NCT ID NCT07434362
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether certain substances in the blood (endocan, alarin, and galanin-like peptide) are linked to the severity of diabetic retinopathy, an eye problem caused by diabetes. Researchers measured these markers in 90 adults with and without diabetic eye damage and compared them to detailed eye scans. The goal was to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
