New study seeks best way to heal diabetic wounds

Summary
This study looks at two different surgical methods for treating diabetic carbuncles (large, deep skin infections). 124 adults with diabetes, aged 25-70, will be randomly assigned to one of two incision techniques, both followed by vacuum-assisted closure therapy. The goal is to find which method causes less blood loss and leads to faster wound healing.
