Temporary gut implant tested to fight diabetes and obesity

NCT ID NCT07417683

Summary

This study is testing a new, temporary implant called the Trans-Duodenal Barrier. The device is placed in the stomach and small intestine using a tube (endoscopy) and is designed to help control blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes and promote weight loss. Researchers will check if it safely lowers long-term blood sugar levels (HbA1c) and measure how much weight participants lose over the 6 months the implant is in place.
