Summary
This study tested whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard nerve block (erector spinae plane block) can extend pain relief after scoliosis surgery in teenagers. Sixty adolescents aged 10–18 were enrolled. The main goal was to see how long it took before they needed opioid pain medicine for the first time after surgery.
