First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard nerve block (erector spinae plane block) can help control pain longer after scoliosis surgery in teenagers. Sixty adolescents aged 10 to 18 who had surgery for idiopathic scoliosis took part. The main goal was to see how long it took before they needed opioid pain medicine for the first time after surgery.
