Summary

This study tests whether dexmedetomidine, a sedative, can reduce acute kidney injury in 78 adults undergoing ascending aortic surgery with a heart-lung machine. The drug may protect kidneys by calming inflammation and stress. Researchers will compare kidney function and side effects between those receiving the drug and those receiving a placebo.
