Summary
This study tested whether dexmedetomidine, a drug that calms agitation, can help people with severe COPD and psychosis who need a breathing mask. The goal was to see if it could prevent them from needing a breathing tube. The study included 70 adults aged 18-60 with agitated COPD. Researchers measured how many patients still needed a breathing tube and how calm they became.
