Anesthesia drug may shield blood vessels during rhinoplasty

NCT ID NCT06897696

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at whether dexmedetomidine, a drug used in general anesthesia, can protect the inner lining of blood vessels (endothelium) from damage during nose surgery. Researchers measured two markers of vessel damage in 90 rhinoplasty patients. The goal was to see if adding dexmedetomidine to standard anesthesia reduces these damage markers.
