First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looked at whether dexmedetomidine, a drug used in general anesthesia, can protect the inner lining of blood vessels (endothelium) from damage during nose surgery. Researchers measured two biomarkers in the blood of 90 rhinoplasty patients. The goal was to see if adding dexmedetomidine to standard anesthesia reduces signs of vessel injury.
