This study looked at whether the steroid dexamethasone could help people with traumatic brain injury and brain swelling. It planned to enroll 600 adults, giving some the drug and others a placebo for 12 days. The trial was stopped early, but researchers were checking if the drug improved recovery and reduced complications.
