Steroid shot may shorten labor for First-Time moms

NCT ID NCT07503184

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving a steroid (dexamethasone) before inducing labor can help women deliver faster after their water breaks. Sixty first-time mothers with full-term pregnancies took part. Half received the steroid and half received a placebo. Researchers measured the time from induction to delivery to see if the steroid made a difference.
