First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a steroid (dexamethasone) before inducing labor can help women deliver faster. It included 60 first-time mothers with full-term pregnancies whose water broke before labor started. Half received the steroid, half received a placebo, and researchers measured the time from induction to delivery.
