First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether dexmedetomidine, a sedative and pain reliever, can lower pain and prevent confusion (delirium) after brain surgery. About 60 adults having planned brain tumor removal will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if it reduces the need for strong painkillers and helps patients recover more clearly.
