First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a gentle, family-focused care approach called developmental care helps very low birth weight infants (under 1500 grams) leave the hospital sooner. About 1600 babies across 40 hospital intensive care units will take part. The care bundle includes skin-to-skin contact and other family-centered practices.
