First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to treat depression in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). About 201 adults with advanced CKD and major depression will receive one of two treatment strategies: behavioral activation teletherapy plus a non-SSRI antidepressant if needed, or the antidepressant first plus therapy if needed. The goal is to see which approach improves mood, quality of life, and health behaviors better than standard care.
