NCT ID NCT04422652

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to treat depression in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). About 201 adults with advanced CKD and major depression will receive either behavioral activation therapy, a different antidepressant (bupropion), or a placebo, with the option to add the other treatment if needed. The goal is to see if these approaches improve mood, medication adherence, fatigue, sleep, and overall quality of life.
