Dignity in design: new garment aims to help dementia patients with incontinence
NCT ID NCT05649839
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 39 times
Summary
This study is testing a specially designed garment for elderly people with dementia who have incontinence and often remove their protective pads, causing distress for both patients and caregivers. The new garment aims to be more dignified and comfortable than current options, which can feel infantilizing. Researchers will measure satisfaction among 40 patients and their caregivers to see if the design improves daily care.
