AI reads heart scans, speeds up diagnosis of hidden heart disease

NCT ID NCT07308704

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests artificial intelligence (AI) tools that help doctors interpret heart ultrasound images more accurately and quickly. The goal is to see if AI can speed up the diagnosis of conditions like genetic heart muscle disease, blocked arteries, and cardiac amyloidosis. Up to 10 million adults having routine heart ultrasounds at Mayo Clinic will be included. The study measures how often AI leads to a confirmed diagnosis and how much time is saved.
