Summary
This study tested whether a drug called deferiprone, which removes extra iron from the brain, could slow the progression of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). The trial included 372 adults with early-stage ALS. Researchers measured changes in physical function and survival over 12 months to see if the drug helped.
